My CVS Shopping Trip: June 18, 2011

I paid $1.43 for everything you see here!

The first thing I do when I enter CVS is to swipe my Extrabucks card for coupons.  I was so excited to see that I had earned my $5 for the Beauty Club ($5 EB for every $50 spent).  This was really going to bring my total down.

Here's how my shopping trip played out:
  • Purchased 2 jars of Vlasic Stackers 2/$4
    • Used (2) $0.55 mfg. coupons = $1.45 ea. (total $2.90)
  • Purchased 1 CVS AA 10 (+2 free) pk for $6.79
    • Received 1 CVS AAA 10 (+2 free) pk for FREE (B1G1 Sale)
    • Used $1 CVS coupon from previous EB coupon machine scan = $2.90 ea. (total $5.79)
  • Purchased Jet Dry Rinse (8.45 oz) $2.99
    • Used $0.75 mfg. coupon =  $2.24
  • Subtotal was $10.93
  • Applied $5 EB coupon from previous purchase = $5.93
  • Applied $5 EB coupon for Beauty Club = $.93 + $0.50 sales tax = $1.43!

Removing Gum From Hair

For whatever reason, gum seems to always be attracted to hair.  Here's an easy solution for removing it:

  • Pour some Pepsi (or any other regular cola) into a bowl
  • Soak the gummed up hair section for a few minutes, or longer, in the Pepsi
  • Slide the gum off.
  • Rinse the hair then shampoo as usual
Voilá, your hair is gum free!

What To Do With Expired Coupons?

Did you know that overseas military personnel can use these coupons for up to 6 months after expiration?  If you are interested in sending your expired coupons to them, go HERE to get more information.  There are volunteers helping sort coupons for mailing, so please read the information very carefully to make their job easier.

Thanks, Krazy Coupon Lady!
