Free Vicks VapoDrops Cough Relief at Walgreens

Well, it's almost time for the cold and cough season, so we should be thinking about stocking up on products that will help relieve some of the symptoms.  Free Vicks VapoDrops sound like the perfect way to get started!  Here's how this deal works:

  • Purchase Vicks VapoDrops Cough Relief Drops (20 ct) for $0.99 or purchase 2/$1.79 (usually by the register)
  • Use $1/1 Vicks Product, exp. 9/30/11 (P&G 08/28/11) - makes product free if you purchase only one or if you were lucky enough to receive it,
  • Use $3/2 Vicks Product, exp. 9/30/11 (P&G 08/28/11) - potentially $1.21 money maker if you purchase two!
Thanks, Saving in Akron!

Free Printable Cash Budgeting Envelopes

Have you ever considered using cash budgeting envelopes rather than using your debit/ATM card?  Are you trying to cut back on the use of credit cards, or track and budget your monthly expenditures more effectively? Go HERE for an article on how to use cash budgeting envelopes and the file to print out your own.
Crazy as it may sound to some, the cash envelope really does work!  Several years ago, my husband and I took a serious look at our budget and decided that we were going to pay cash for everything and keep very close tabs on exactly how we were spending our money - right down to the last penny!  We were surprised to learn how ineffectively we were managing our budget.  We actually used a cash envelope system similar to the one found HERE at Today's Nest.  Check it out and give it a try!

Layaway is Back at Walmart for Holidays Starting October 17th

So, why did Walmart do away with layaway just as Kmart brought theirs back?  I've always had to wonder....Well, in either case, they have decided to bring it back just for this holiday season.  You will be able to place certain eligible toys and electronics on layaway starting October 17th. Pick up and your last payment must be made by December 16th.  Each item placed on layaway must cost more than $15 and your total purchase must total more than $50.  There will be a $5 service fee placed on your layaway.  Layaway items will be taken at the Walmart.com counter (where you pick up Site to Store purchases).  For more details, check with any Walmart store associate.

Thanks, Budget Savvy Diva!
